Behavioural Assessments
A behavioural assessment evaluates an individual’s level of behaviour problems in comparison to his/her age matched peers. The behaviour assessment involves parents/ guardians and a classroom teacher completing a detailed questionnaire. Responses from the questionnaires are compared and recommendations are made.

When would a behavioural assessment be administered?
- To identify and diagnose behaviour disorders such as Attention- Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorder
- To evaluate whether a current treatment is improving an individual’s behaviour
What are the benefits of having a behavioural assessment?
- To ensure a correct diagnosis of a disorder has been made
- To describe an individual’s behavioural problems to assist parents and schools in meeting an individual’s needs in order to prevent a child from experiencing negative outcomes at school including: poor results, avoidance and school refusal, low self-esteem and mental health issues such as anxiety and depression
- To assist in gaining additional funding at school
