Healthy Minds, Happy Kids provides evidence-based treatments for a range of childhood, adolescent and family disorders and concerns. Healthy Minds, Happy Kids offers individual/family-based therapy, a parent management training program and a reading intervention program.

Individual/Family-based Therapy

Therapy may be individual and/or family-based depending on the individual’s or family’s needs. Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. Therapy is available for the following disorders and concerns:

Parent Management Training

Caring for a child with a behavioural problem can be challenging. Healthy Minds, Happy Kids offers a parent management training program to help parents/guardians develop behaviour management skills and positive relationships with their children. Parents/Guardians of children with the following disorders could benefit from the program:

The parent management training program Healthy Minds, Happy Kids provides is catered to each family’s needs. Aspects of the program include creating family rules and a reward system for positive behaviour and learning techniques for dealing with challenging behaviours. The program typically includes 4 to 6 sessions over approximately 3 months. The sessions are 1-hour in length and could include the parents/guardians as well as the children.

Reading InterventionReading Intervention

Children with reading disorders (also known as Dyslexia) typically find it difficult to put sounds to letters, making it next to impossible for the children to recognise words or spell. Because children with reading disorders find reading difficult, they often struggle at school and are unable to demonstrate their true potential.

The reading intervention program Healthy Minds, Happy Kids provides, is catered to each child’s needs. The program typically includes approximately 20 sessions over 5 months. The sessions are 30 minutes in length. Children are also required to complete 15 minutes of homework at least 4 times per week.
